Very well done…congrats on your success..
So glad I don’t have to pick a favorite, I absolutely love them all. They all have their own unique and beauty. Such precious children.
Congratulations unforgettable moments
I loved the letter you wrote your daughter. It moved me to tears. Your photographs are beyond beautiful! Congrats on your daughter and your success.
Thank you for that life changing letter to your daughter. I was in tears. Well said. Cindy
Your daughter is blessed to have you as her mother. I cannot fathom how people behave. It’s a sign of the times we live in. Her father is a coward and not close to being a man. God bless you and Hannah.
Love your message; I have a beautiful granddaughter , Halle ,with extra chromosome.
She is a gift from God and HER father fought for her like a WARRIOR!
Yes my son stood up like a man of God that he is; I’m so proud of him.

awesome stuff!
Dear Hanna and Stephanie,
After reading your story on lovewhatmatters.com, I had to come here and express my appreciation for your bravery and strength in the face of adversity most never experience. As someone who once had nearly normal eyesight and lost all of it by age 30, the most valuable lesson I’ve learned is that there’s more than one way to see. It breaks my heart that your dad (Hannah), your husband (Stephanie), did what too many of us do so very easily: Using a gift God gives us as a weapon rather than a tool, a filter rather than an aid, a sword rather than a plowshare. Simultaneously, it moves me to see that you have flown beyond such ephemera as physical sight to seeing where it truly counts.
Stephanie, the medical personnel involved in your care would have pushed you to commit an act that would have prevented you and Hanna from embarking on a unique journey with an outwardly humble but inwardly great purpose. The fact that you didn’t even countenance the notion of testing for so-called defects is a testament to who you are as a human being and a mother in particular. May your story serve as an encouragement to those in similar circumstances and as an example to those who need guidance to make Godly choices for themselves and their children.
God bless and keep you, Hannah and Stephanie.
thank you so very much. I appreciate the more than you know <3
I just saw your article on Love What Matters. You are my hero!! My baby daughter Charlotte has DS and not many people know about her. I didn’t have the courage to tell people or know how to tell people about her. Please don’t judge me for this. But your exact words “The flaw isn’t her extra chromosome at all its in the way you are choosing to see it” resonated so much to me. Your story has given me the courage to let everyone I know that I have an angel who absolutely perfect!
oh my goodness this made my whole day! thank you so much for telling me about your story girl. Shout your daughters worth because I promise you, our kids are so worthy and so loved, on purpose, not an option. Give her a big hug from me and celebrate her amazing extraordinary life every moment of everyday. Anyone who chooses not to see her for the amazing person she is…thats on THEM. She was fearfully and wonderfully made, crafted by her creator for the most amazing purpose..just watch and see <3
I have a 28 year old daughter with Down Syndrome. She is my best friend and the light in my life. She teaches both my wife and I how to be better people, on a daily basis, by her shining example. So sad for your husband that he missed out on knowing his daughter. You are blessed. Michael Rhodes
You two are amazing. I read your story with tears in my eyes. God bless you both.
thank you so very much. I appreciate it more than you could know! <3
