Weston is an absolute ball of sunshine. He was the baby I’d prayed for and didn’t know if I’d be able to have due to several health conditions of my own.
My pregnancy was a much welcome surprise and during pregnancy we discovered that Weston may have XYY syndrome (This was later confirmed just after he was born by having his cord blood tested.)
Not a lot is known about XYY and most males go undiagnosed. What research tells us is that he could possibly have some physical, speech and developmental delays or difficulties; though we have yet to see any evidence of this with Weston.
His diagnosis has in no way changed our love for him or the way we look at or interact with him.
What we do know is that he is a fun, loving, adventurous and courageous little boy. He loves everyone and is so sweet and friendly. He teaches us to look at the world with wonder and excitement and we can’t wait to see what the future holds for him!
